The Philanthropy Partners of the Cape and Islands (PPCI) is thrilled to welcome Vu Le, nationally recognized speaker and author of the popular blog Nonprofit AF, as the keynote speaker at the upcoming Annual Meeting on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 12:30 pm.

A Time for Boldness: Equity, Unrestricted Funding, and How to Unlock Our Full Awesomeness!
During these challenging and tumultuous times, nonprofits have played a vital role. We are as essential as air. While the pandemic and society’s reckoning with systemic racism brought about some changes in our sector, we still have many philosophies and practices that are archaic and ineffective. These include the idea of restricted funds, the nonprofit hunger games, the concept of self-sustainability, and the way we do fundraising and advance equity. It is time for nonprofit and philanthropy to let go of some things, embrace some new ideas, and get others to come along. Get ready to be entertained, challenged, and provoked.
This event is FREE to attend with advance registration for current PPCI members; and $25 per person for non-members. To attend this event, please register online via the link below. Deadline for registration is Tuesday, January 26th.

About Our Speaker: Vu Le
Vu Le (“voo lay”) is a writer, speaker, vegan, Pisces, and the former Executive Director of RVC, a nonprofit in Seattle that promotes social justice by developing leaders of color, strengthening organizations led by communities of color, and fostering collaboration between diverse communities.
Vu’s passion to make the world better, combined with a low score on the Law School Admission Test, drove him into the field of nonprofit work, where he learned that we should take the work seriously, but not ourselves. There’s tons of humor in the nonprofit world, and someone needs to document it. He is going to do that, with the hope that one day, a TV producer will see how cool and interesting our field is and make a show about nonprofit work, featuring attractive actors attending strategic planning meetings and filing 990 tax forms.
Known for his no-BS approach, irreverent sense of humor, and love of unicorns, Vu has been featured in dozens, if not hundreds, of his own blog posts at NonprofitAF.com, formerly nonprofitwithballs.com.
Brought you in part by Cape Cod 5, Eastern Bank, Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation, Kelley Foundation, and The Cape Cod Foundation.
