Elects Three New Board Members at 2024 Annual Meeting
HYANNIS, Mass, January 25, 2024– The Philanthropy Partners of the Cape and Islands (PPCI) is pleased to announce the addition of three new members to its volunteer Board of Directors: Jennifer Allard of Mainsail Events & Marketing, Sara Anton of Gosnold Behavior Health, and Brigid Krug of Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen’s Association. The three professionals involved in our nonprofit community were voted in during the PPCI annual meeting held on Thursday, January 25th at the Cape Codder Resort in Hyannis. Each will serve a three-year term.
“The current PPCI board is pleased to be welcoming Brigid, Jenn and Sara to the all-volunteer board,” incoming Board President Jennifer Curran stated. “We are fortunate to have such strong leadership committed to PPCI, and the addition of these three individuals with their professionalism and experience, further enriches our collective efforts.”
Prior to forming Mainsail Events & Marketing, Jennifer Allard spent over 15 years in events and marketing in the luxury hospitality field where she witnessed the need for non-profit focused event planners who had the ability to focus on the nuts and bolts of the event planning process, but also the fundraising side of things; hence Mainsail Events and Marketing was born. While they don’t exclusively plan non-profit events, that is the Mainsail focus. With her team, Jennifer has worked with clients to design, plan and execute events of all sizes from small parties to large-scale galas, sporting events and festivals. She was one of the first in the area to offer auction services, working with clients on developing an auction that provides great results for the organization. Jenn’s out-of-the box approach combined with a fundraising mindset have helped create numerous success stories for Mainsail’s clients. In her downtime, you’ll find her on Nauset Beach with her pup Isla or swimming with the turtles in St. John, USVI.
Sara Anton, CFRE was born and raised in the Boston area and spent her childhood summers on Cape Cod. After graduating from Union College in 1993, she moved to Colorado where she embraced mountain life for 2 years. She then returned home to obtain her master’s in social work from Boston College. After receiving her MSW, Sara managed a $1M Campaign at the Walker Home & School in Needham, where she fell in love with fundraising. As a development professional, Sara has had opportunities to explore the worlds of music, the environment, and healthcare. She has worked with the Breckenridge Music Festival, the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound and Gosnold Behavioral Health, where she currently serves as Director of Development. At Gosnold, Sara plans and oversees the fundraising program to expand philanthropic support and meet the short-term and long-term needs of the organization. She manages a diverse portfolio of donors, and develops, plans, and implements strategies focused on engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors. Sara is constantly coming up with innovative and inspiring ways to thank donors for their support and relies on the collaboration of her team to constantly bring new ideas to the table. Sara earned her CFRE in August of 2022. She is a member of the New England Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and serves on the Youth Committee for the Osterville Anglers Club. She is also a member of the Leadership Cape Cod Community Leadership Institute’s Class of 2024. Sara and her husband, Matt live in Sandwich and have 3 children- Sean (19), Addie (16) and Nate (14).
Brigid Krug joined the Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen’s Alliance in 2019 and is the Director of Development. Prior to joining the organization Brigid worked in fisheries conservation and biosecurity programs for the New South Wales state government in Australia. She focused on marine protected area planning and aquatic biosecurity (pest and disease management). Having participated in a variety of projects with commercial fishers and aquaculture farmers and seen their dedication to their industries and the environment, she was thrilled to join the Fishermen’s Alliance. Brigid also gained fundraising experience while working for The Committee to Protect Journalists, a nonprofit organization based in New York City, that promotes press freedom worldwide. She enjoys getting to know the supporters who make an impact every day. Brigid has been a member of the Philanthropy Day marketing committee for the past two years. Brigid grew up in New York and spent summers and extensive periods of time on the Cape since childhood where she developed her fascination with the coast. She finds it inspirational to be working for an organization that is dedicated to protecting the local fishing industries and marine environment, which are integral to the character and lifestyle of Cape Cod. Brigid graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a degree in Mass Communications and earned a Masters in Environmental Science at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.
Also, during the annual meeting the following board members were elected for one-year terms as PPCI Officers: President, Jennifer Curran of Pleasant Bay Community Boating; Vice-President, Heather Kelsey of Latham Centers; Philanthropy Day Co-Chair, Cyndy Cotton, CFRE of Osterville Village Library; Treasurer, Vanessa Greene of Cape Cod 5; and Clerk, Rosemarie Resnik of Rosemarie Resnik and Associates, Inc.
The PPCI board further consists of Directors: Adam Burnett of Champ Homes and Boardwalk Business Group; Christa Danilowicz of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts | Cape Cod & the Islands; and PJ Richardson of YMCA Cape Cod.
