Elects Three New Board Members at Annual Meeting

YARMOUTH PORT, Mass, January 28, 2021 – The Philanthropy Partners of the Cape and Islands (PPCI) is pleased to announce the addition of three new members to its volunteer Board of Directors: Vanessa Greene of Cape Cod 5, Laurel Hartman of Kinlin Grover Real Estate, and P.J. Richardson of YMCA Cape Cod. The three professionals involved in our nonprofit community were voted in during the PPCI annual meeting held virtually on Thursday, January 28th. Each will serve a three-year term.

Vanessa Greene

Vanessa Greene is the Director of Risk and Compliance at Cape Cod 5 and also serves as the institution’s Community Reinvestment Act Officer. She has twenty years of experience in the financial services industry serving in roles within the areas of project management, internal audit, risk management, and compliance. She holds a BA in Economics and Psychology from Wellesley College, an MBA from Bentley University, a degree from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, a Wharton Leadership Certificate, and a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation. Over the last several years, she has been increasingly involved in advocacy initiatives for affordable and accessible housing and currently serves on Brewster’s Housing Partnership.

Laurel Hartman
Laurel Hartman

Laurel Hartman is a graduate of Nauset Regional High School, has a B.S. from Northwestern University and an MBA from University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. Her 20+ year career in the hospitality industry with leading organizations including Hilton, Marriott and Starwood has taken her from Chicago to NYC to Boston and back to her home on Cape Cod. In conjunction with the completion of her MBA, Laurel joined the team of Cape & Plymouth Business Publishing as their Director of Sales and Content Marketing before eventually taking on the role of Publisher, VP of the company. She has now taken her extensive experience with customer service, marketing and sales to serving buyers and sellers of residential real estate as a REALTOR® with Kinlin Grover Real Estate. She is a certified meeting professional (CMP), certified sommelier and certified meditation trainer with extensive experience in human resources, training, food service and event planning. Active in her community, Laurel serves on the board of directors and a number of committees of the YMCA of Cape Cod and is the immediate past board chair, is a member of both Cape Cod Young Professionals and South Shore Young Professionals, is a graduate of the Community Leadership Institute of the Cape & Islands, co-founded the Cape & Islands Wedding Group and is a past president of the organization, and is a past board member of the Lower Cape Business and Professional Women.

PJ Richardson

P.J. Richardson has worked at the YMCA Cape Cod since early 2000 when he was hired to expand the YMCA’s Camp Lyndon property in order to better serve the year-round community with an emphasis on teen and family programming as well as community development. In 2010 the YMCA Cape Cod promoted PJ to Chief Financial Development Officer. PJ now utilizes his community development skills to help tell the Y story to the community and ensure the Y has the necessary philanthropic support to deliver on their mission. PJ believes that it is his responsibility to nurture the potential of children and teens. By instilling core values in children, we change our future in subtle life-altering ways. PJ has enjoyed a successful career focused on securing the resources needed to ensure that the YMCA Cape Cod is able to keep our promise to the community. PJ embraces the Y’s promise that no child will be turned away from its supportive programs and enriching opportunities due to an inability to pay. PJ considers himself to be part of a team of professionals who pride themselves on being the change they want to see in the world. PJ received his B.A. from West Virginia Wesleyan College with a Major in Government and a Minor in Sociology. He lives in Centerville with his wife Naomi, their sons Sam, twins Henry and Simon, daughter Annie and their golden retriever, Poppy. PJ and his family spend their time hiking, paddling, fishing, volunteering and just enjoying all the natural beauty of Cape Cod.

Also, during the annual meeting the following board members were re-elected for one-year terms as PPCI Officers: President, Sarah Tribuzio of Decatur House; Vice-President Education, Jennifer Cummings of Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation; Vice-President Marketing & Membership, Christopher Ellis of Community Health Center of Cape Cod, Inc.; Treasurer, Kathy Zagzebski of Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center; Secretary, Beatrice Gremlich of Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation; and Immediate Past President, Kristin O’Malley of The Cape Cod Foundation.

The PPCI board further consists of Directors: Barbara Cotton of American Red Cross; Cyndy Cotton of Osterville Village Library; Gerry Desautels, CFRE of Outer Cape Health Services; Tamara Harper of Cape Cod Theatre Company / Harwich Junior Theatre; and Rosemarie Resnik of Rosemarie Resnik and Associates, Inc.
