It’s Time Nominate Cape Cod’s Most Charitable Businesses and Individuals for the 2023 Distinguished Service to Philanthropy Awards
The Philanthropy Partners of the Cape and Islands (PPCI) invites nominations for its 2023 Distinguished Service to Philanthropy Awards which will be presented at the 26th Annual Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod, November 15 at the Emerald Resort’s Hyport Conference Center (formerly The Resort and Conference Center) in Hyannis. Nominations can be submitted online at www.capecodgiving.org.
This prestigious conference attracts more than 500 professional fundraisers, executive directors, board members, and volunteers across the region. Each year at Philanthropy Day, the nonprofit community awards Distinguished Service to Philanthropy awards in four categories: Philanthropist, Business/Organization, Volunteer and Youth.
“The Distinguished Service to Philanthropy awardees exemplify the best of our caring and generous community. They support many different nonprofits, and they inspire others to do the same. It’s important at Philanthropy Day that we celebrate these outstanding individuals and all we have accomplished with their help,” said Cyndy Cotton, committee co-chair, Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod.
2022 awardees included:
- Outstanding Philanthropist Award: The late Richard Costello
- Outstanding Business/Organization Award: The Cape Cod Foundation
- Outstanding Volunteer Award: Sheila House
- Outstanding Commemorative Volunteer Award: The late Peter Muise
- Outstanding Youth Award: The Kennedy-Donovan Center
Nomination deadline is June 1, 2023, and nominators are encouraged to collaborate on nominations for awardees who support multiple organizations and causes. Criteria are as follows:
Outstanding Philanthropist Award Criteria: Presented to an individual or family with a proven record of exceptional generosity and demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable responsibility and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles in the local community.
Outstanding Volunteer Award Criteria: Presented to a volunteer who demonstrates exceptional leadership skills and has demonstrated outstanding philanthropic commitment through fundraising efforts and/or coordinating community involvement to benefit Cape Cod and the Islands.
Outstanding Business/Organization Award Criteria: Presented to a business/organization that has demonstrated outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement in response to local needs.
Outstanding Youth/Youth Organization Criteria: Presented to a youth or youth organization that has demonstrated outstanding philanthropic commitment through fundraising efforts and/or coordinating community involvement to benefit Cape Cod and the Islands.
