Cape Cod non-profit welcomes Carol Bosco Baumann & Mark Clausen to organization
Cape Wellness Collaborative (CWC), a Cape Cod-based 501(c)(3) offering free-of-charge integrative wellness therapies and support for Cape Cod and Islands residents facing cancer, is pleased to announce the appointment of Yarmouth Port resident Carol Bosco Baumann to Chief Executive Officer and Dennis resident Mark Clausen as President and Chairman of the Board.
Relocated from western Massachusetts, Bosco Baumann has previously lived on Cape and spent much time here caring for family and enjoying the Cape’s natural places. She spent two decades in high-level marketing and communications and executive leadership roles in travel, food, publishing, and nonprofit sectors. Bosco Baumann later launched a strategic marketing, branding, and communications consultancy focused on reputation management and growth opportunities. In addition to her professional experience, she has a strong sense of devotion to the nonprofit community as a longtime volunteer, giving her a deep appreciation for how nonprofits seek to improve the quality of life for our region.
“The Board of Directors and I are excited to bring an accomplished, strategic nonprofit leader to Cape Wellness Collaborative to move CWC forward with our ever-increasing desire to help people cope with cancer on Cape Cod and the Islands,” said Clausen. “Carol brings exceptional marketing and communications acumen and a spirited, solutions-oriented, mission-driven approach to CWC. She is committed to driving positive change and maximizing organizational impact, and given her passion and drive, our organization and its community are in good hands.”
Clausen brings to CWC a highly motivated attitude, strong business acumen, ability to bring people together, and a sense of humor. Clausen led supply chain management, strategic proposal, and business development teams at General Dynamics. Within GD, Clausen successfully led the information technology, cybersecurity, and mission system business segments to transformative growth increasing revenue by more than $7B over two decades. With a deep passion for giving back and supporting those impacted by leukemia, Alzheimer’s, and cancer, Clausen, an avid golfer, has led 46 fundraising golf tournaments raising $526,200, with beneficiaries including Leukemia Society of America, Brigham & Women Hospital’s Ebert Lab, Alzheimer’s Association, St. Mary’s Church of Norton, Yarmouth/Dennis Red Sox, and Cape Wellness Collaborative. Clausen, who also worked for Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Fidelity Investments, is a member of Company Management at The Cape Playhouse and a Board Member of Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox Baseball team.
“CWC provides support, hope, and the light in the dark to help people through difficult times,” said Clausen. “My wife, Jo, and I benefited greatly from CWC’s support during a very scary and personally difficult time when we were challenged by breast cancers at the same time. Having been on the other side, I know the impact CWC brings to those who may not know where to turn when they receive a cancer diagnosis and fear the worst that they are alone. CWC’s impact is transformative for the patient, the caregiver, and all those impacted by a cancer journey that’s long and arduous.”
For the over 10 years, Cape Wellness Collaborative has provided integrative therapies to Cape Codders facing cancer. Today, CWC serves nearly 800 people each year and partners with practitioners across the Cape to provide yoga, massage, acupuncture, and other therapies to relieve symptoms and side effects of treatment and recovery. CWC also offers fresh, handcrafted nourishing meals (over 7,000 served to date) and mental health support groups. All programs are free of charge to members.
