Philanthropy Partners of the Cape & Islands (PPCI) recognized the following for Distinguished Service during Philanthropy Awards at the 27th Annual Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod, November 13, 2024
2024 Outstanding Youth Organization Award: Youth StreetReach
The Outstanding Youth/Youth Organization Award is presented to a youth or youth organization that has demonstrated outstanding philanthropic commitment through fundraising efforts and/or coordinating community involvement to benefit Cape Cod and the Islands.
Since its founding in 2007, Youth StreetReach has empowered young people to support Cape Cod’s homeless community through service and compassion. Inspired by the CityReach program in Boston, four young leaders launched this initiative to provide breakfasts and other support at the Federated Church in Hyannis, backed by local churches and organizations. Youth StreetReach is driven by a mission to educate and engage youth in social justice, emphasizing hospitality and respect for the dignity of all people. With almost 50 volunteer groups contributing food, clothing, and companionship, the program has made a meaningful difference in the lives of countless individuals. Youth StreetReach is a program of the Homeless Ministries of the Cape Cod Council of Churches.

2024 Outstanding Organization Award: Cape Cod Beer
The Outstanding Business/Organization Award is presented to a business/organization that has demonstrated outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement in response to local needs.
Known for their unwavering commitment to supporting nonprofits on Cape Cod, Cape Cod Beer has become a cornerstone of community engagement and philanthropy. Todd and Beth’s dedication to making a positive impact is evident through their partnerships with local organizations, focusing on environmental conservation, social causes, and economic development. Their innovative initiatives and generous contributions have made a lasting difference, showcasing the true spirit of community involvement and leadership.

2024 Outstanding Volunteer Award:
Amy Doherty
The Outstanding Volunteer Award is presented to a volunteer who demonstrates exceptional leadership skills and has demonstrated outstanding philanthropic commitment through fundraising efforts and/or coordinating community involvement to benefit Cape Cod and the Islands.
Amy has dedicated herself as the full-time executive director, grant writer, and board treasurer of WellStrong, a nonprofit organization in Falmouth, Massachusetts. With a mission to support people in recovery from substance use disorder through fitness, wellness, and mindfulness, WellStrong has impacted over 2,200 lives and employed over 30 individuals from the recovery community. Amy’s tireless efforts have raised over $500,000, enabling the organization to offer more than 18,000 programs, including yoga, meditation, and recovery-based meetings. Her leadership and selfless dedication have created a supportive community that fosters healing and growth.

2024 Outstanding Philanthropist Award:
Gail and David Oppenheim
The Outstanding Philanthropist Award is presented to an individual or family with a proven record of exceptional generosity through their own financial support, generosity of spirit and civic responsibility that sets a leadership example encouraging others to take philanthropic roles in the local community.
Gail and David Oppenheim. This honor recognizes their exceptional generosity and civic engagement on Cape Cod. The Oppenheims have provided significant philanthropic support to local nonprofits, focusing on housing, food security, healthcare, and more. Additionally, they have donated property and resources, empowering organizations to expand their impact. Their hands-on involvement includes serving on boards and volunteering in food security programs, demonstrating a commitment to addressing pressing community needs.
