Philanthropy Partners of the Cape & Islands (PPCI) recognized the following for Distinguished Service during Philanthropy Awards at the 25th Annual Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod, November 15, 2023
Outstanding Youth Organization Award: ArtWorks Program MassHire Cape & Islands Workforce Board
The Outstanding Youth/Youth Organization Award is presented to a youth or youth organization that has demonstrated outstanding philanthropic commitment through fundraising efforts and/or coordinating community involvement to benefit Cape Cod and the Islands.
Providing innovative, enriching and accessible opportunities, the ArtWorks Program is an invaluable asset to our region’s youth. Participating students not only grow as artists and entrepreneurs, but build self-esteem, self-confidence and soft skills that transfer beyond art. ArtWorks has proven to create a tangible path to working and supporting the creative economy on Cape Cod and the Islands. The organization has created innovative, hands-on opportunities for students to explore their artistic passions for over 25 years, while also developing and fostering students’ future goals and aspirations.

Outstanding Organization Award: Polhemus Savery DaSilva Architects Builders (PSD).
The Outstanding Business/Organization Award is presented to a business/organization that has demonstrated outstanding commitment through financial support and through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement in response to local needs.
In 2010, PSD established the PSD Fund for Working Families, a lifeline for those facing challenges on Cape Cod. The organization has contributed over $460,000 to support families and individuals in need, including a percentage of profits donated to the fund annually. PSD has been a steadfast supporter of many nonprofit organizations through the years, but their dedication extends far beyond financial support. The PSD Team has donated their time, talent and effort to projects for Housing Assistance Corporation, WECAN, among others. The Outstanding Business/Organization award is a testament to PSD’s resolute commitment to excellence, and the positive impact the company has made on their customers, employees and the wider community.

Outstanding Volunteer Award:
David Troutman
The Outstanding Volunteer Award is presented to a volunteer who demonstrates exceptional leadership skills and has demonstrated outstanding philanthropic commitment through fundraising efforts and/or coordinating community involvement to benefit Cape Cod and the Islands.
Co-Owner of Scargo Café and strong supporter of the Cape Cod non-profit community, David is passionate about volunteering. His involvement in organizations like Calmer Choice, WECAN, E for All, YMCA Achievers’ Club and many others are a testament to his dedication and unwavering support of the Cape Cod community. David’s exceptional commitment, combined with his influence and charismatic leadership, inspires others to give back and work towards a stronger, more connected community.

Outstanding Philanthropist Award:
Craig Morong
The Outstanding Philanthropist Award is presented to an individual or family with a proven record of exceptional generosity through their own financial support, generosity of spirit and civic responsibility that sets a leadership example encouraging others to take philanthropic roles in the local community.
Dedicated to giving back, Craig has quietly dedicated his own resources, time and effort to improve the well-being of others on Cape Cod and make a positive difference in our community. His loyal support of organizations like the Family Pantry of Cape Cod and the Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation has inspired others to do the same. His advocacy, leadership, and support of students and community members at-large has made a positive impact on countless lives and encouraged others to engage in philanthropic efforts.
